About

OptiFine is commonly referred to as Minecraft's best optimization mod, and while this was true for many years, it isn't necessarily the case anymore. I created DUO to help players make the switch to the modern optimization mods without having to lose the OptiFine features everybody knows and loves!

Why Choose DUO?

Multiplayer Friendly

DUO is a collection of fair play mods that only run on the client, which means it's possible to connect to any multiplayer server while using it! Unlike similar modpacks, DUO doesn't include the unnecessary (and commonly disallowed) "quality of life" mods such as Freelook, Minimap, No Chat Reports, or TNT Timer.

Best Compatibility

OptiFine is a closed-source mod, resulting in incompatibilites with many other popular mods, and rendering issues on some multiplayer servers that use custom models. DUO aims to fix both of these issues at once by being built upon as many open-source mods as possible!

Easy Installation

While Modrinth already offers a long list of alternatives to OptiFine, who wants to scroll through thousands of mods looking for the ones that appeal to them when they could just install one all-around mod in seconds, right? Similarly to OptiFine, DUO is quick and easy to install on the Modrinth App!

Complete Parity

Own an OptiFine cape? Don't worry, you won't have to lose that either because DUO supports 'em, along with almost every other OptiFine feature including (but not limited to) Shaders, Custom Skies and Custom Item Textures. You can find a few examples below!
