Overview
SpammyCombat aims to restore the old click spamming combat from Minecraft 1.8 and older, ideal for those wanting to upgrade to a more modern MC version but stuck on ancient versions because of the new combat.
What it does
- Removes the cooldown from all weapons in the game, so you can spam click to hit people with full damage without having to time your attacks - just like before the Minecraft 1.9 Combat Update.
- Removes the sword sweeping mechanic
- Disables the visual attack indicator in the HUD and prevents you from re-enabling it in the video settings
- Removes the attack damage heart particles
Future updates may further improve parity with the old combat system such as preventing dual wielding of weapons, adding sword blocking, restoring the old attack damage values, etc...
This mod uses Forge events and ATs without invasive coremodding or Mixins that could cause compatibility issues. It's deliberately designed to be as simple and efficient as possible with minimal changes to the underlying game.
This mod works on either side
- If you install it on your client only, you'll get spammy combat in single player worlds and on some servers such as Hypixel.
- If you install it on a server, it should give spammy combat for everyone playing on your server - regardless of whether or not they have the mod installed on their clients.
- If installed on both sides, you'll get spammy combat both in single player worlds and on servers
Modpacks
You're welcome to use this mod in your modpack - all I ask in return is that you give me credit and reasonably check for updates to use the latest version of this mod for your MC version so that I don't get bug reports for things that are already fixed in newer versions of this mod.
