Overview
This mod adds three armor items associated with the idea of moving backwards in some way. The items in question are all obtainable from trading with village armorers by default:
Retro Sneakers
- Journeyman level villager trade.
- Walking backwards allows the player to move faster, with an increased default step height.
- Movement bonus is roughly the equivalent of Speed IV. (That said, players cannot sprint backwards.)
- Note: in order to combat the visual stuttering of frequent speed changes, retro sneakers lock FOV at about 70.0. This will likely only be noticeable by those who use uncommon FOV in their settings.
Nostalgic Glasses
- Expert level villager trade.
- The user's perspective is flipped, making it seem as if their eyes are in the back of their head.
- The user has constant Regeneration.
- Note: Since this item flips the camera, third person perspectives may be a bit off-kilter.
Moon Walkers
- Master level villager trade.
- Note: this item requires Architect's Palette in order to appear in-game, as the trade requires moonstone. By default, moonstone can be obtained from Wandering Traders when AP is installed.
- The user disobeys gravity while moving backwards. Jumping off the ground allows the user to ascend freely for a while. Fall damage is also reduced, and stacks with enchantments like Feather Falling.
Config
All villager trades are enabled by default.
- Villagers trade armor items from this mod (default: true)
- There are more specific config options for each armor item as well, in case you prefer making only certain armor items trading-exclusive.
- The percentage reduction in fall damage for using moon walkers (default: 0.5)
Requires Blueprint 6.2.0+. Optional dependency for Architect's Palette.
A hearty thanks to Noon for the armor models, as well as the item sprites for the moon walkers and nostalgic glasses. In addition, thanks to SuperMightByte for the retro sneakers item sprite!
