Beta 2.2.1 is here for 1.20.0 AND 1.20.1.
Additions in b2.2.1 (1.20.0/1.20.1):

- Hanging sign variants for PL wood types
- Bugfix for weird crash with feeding trough
- Glazed Gold items are crafted with a gold block in addition to the template, due to the 1.20+ smithing table recipes
Beta 2.2.1 is here for 1.19.4, with no new features, but some minor tweaks to worldgen.
Additions in b2.2.1 (1.19.4):
- Removed some unused bloat items
- Incubus Core removed as an internal dependency
- Minor tweaks to biomes to make them more navigable and making flax/amadrys more likely to generate
Beta 2.2.1 is here, including mostly bug fixes for 2.2.0... but a few features that I missed in that release are also included here!
Bugs fixed in b2.2.1:
- Missing translation keys for Envoy and updated translations for some blocks (grass path)
- Fixed missing particles and sound when detonating a Nitra bunch with Redstone
- Levita and Levita Ore will now break at the height limit to prevent them from rising and falling forever
- Tree Taps on bee nests require the honey level to be full
Additions in b2.2.1:
- Added a path variant for Permafrost
- Healing splash potions can be used to make Bloomed Calcite
- Each potion can convert 1-2 Calcite where it lands
- Nitra Bulbs are throwable an explode on hit
- Explosion only damages entities
- 5 second cooldown between throws
New Additions:
- Golden Amber can be used to upgrade gold tools to make them more durable, able to mine at iron level, and super enchantable!
- Surtrum, a new material can be found within floating (or embedded) meteorites on the lower areas of islands and in the gaps between islands. Surtrum can be used to make diamond mining level tools which are fireproof and have innate fire aspect 2. Surtrum meteors must be blown into with an explosive, or can be mined slowly with a diamond level tool.
- Nitra is a new plant whose seeds are found in the Aurel towers that spawn throughout Paradise.
- Nitra can be used to create Nitra Bunches, which explode immediately and detonate neighboring Bunches. Explosion is significantly smaller than normal TNT
- The tree tap is a new block that can be used to fill bottles and bowls with various fluids when attached to specific blocks.
- Water from wisteria logs
- Mushroom stew from large mushroom stems
- Honey from bee nest
- New stone variant "Heliolith" can be found throughout the island's stone and has a polished variant.
- New terrain block "Levita" can be found in islands rarely and will float upwards (like reverse sand/gravel)
- Levita Crystals can be found rarely and are used to craft a Redstone Levitator and Levitation Wand
- Bloomed Calcite is crafted by applying a healing potion onto a calcite block.
- Placing this block underneath soil of a plant will accelerate it's growth slightly
- This is also now used as the portal frame block
- Envoys (a skeleton variant) will now spawn at night in Paradise, and underground. They wield no weapons and have a small chance of dropping Bloomed Calcite
- Lost Vaults can be found rarely underground with chest loot including the Glazed Gold Upgrade
- At least 1 powered up Envoy will spawn in these structures
- This is partially a test run of learning how to make Jigsaw structures for future use in dungeons
- Advancements have been retuned with new features
- A few new misc decoration blocks have been added for new and old features
Tweaks:
- Worldgen has been slightly tweaked
- Flaxweave cushions will break your fall, like hay bales.
- Olvite and Floestone can be used to craft many Vanilla blocks in place of Iron and Stone to grant access to some blocks and items in Paradise
- Mother Aurel is more common in thickets
- Thicket tree adjustments
- Wisteria Leaves block movement
Removals:
- Almost all unused blocks and items
- Remaining Aether mobs, Aerbunny and Aechor plant
- Paradise Chests
Many many changes and much needed cleanup to finalize the move away from the Aether.
Many renames/changes to blocks and items from the Aether, mixing up material tiers:
- Aerclouds -> Clouds
- Icestone -> Vitroulite
- Holystone -> Floestone
- Ambroisum -> Cherine
- Zanite -> Olvite
- Skyroot -> Aurel
- Golden oak -> Mother Aurel
- Blueberry -> Blackcurrant
- Aechor plant -> Hellenrose
- Aerbunny -> Corsican Hare
Many removals in favor of brand new unique to PL features to be added to take their place:
- Quicksoil, Quicksoil glass, and Flutegrass
- Gravitite
- Crystal wood, Crystal trees, and white apples
- Swets and Swet balls
- Dart Shooters
- All unobtainable loot weapons, armor, tools, and other equipment
World generation has been tweaked for a final time
- Paradise is far less hilly, and is designed to be more traversable
- Some areas are dense and flat, some are broken up into small islands, and there are occasional seas of open space
- Biomes have been redistributed more evenly
- The Thicket biome has been reworked to be more traversable, less laggy, and contain a higher amount of Mother Aurel Trees
- The Tower structure has been retouched
Many visual changes have been made, and anything that became a new item has gotten a new set of textures to give Paradise Lost a unique identity, visually distinct from The Aether in color, and hopefully in overall feel.
A huge amount of cleanup was done in regards to leftover files of all kinds, removing any excess unused or outdated bloat, including textures, models, lang, blockstates, loot, and more. A few missing recipes were added and some recipes have been tweaked to be more consistent with PL or with Minecraft in general.
Paradise Lost also has a new set of advancements, covering a more broad range of goals besides collecting items, and hopefully will help to indicate that certain actions can be done, specifically taming moas, using the feeding trough, and stripping Mother Aurel trees for amber.
Additionally, a few breaking bugs have been fixed, notably crashes related to PL's crops, removing the bugged holiday leaves feature, and simple compatibility with the Better Combat Mod
Our internal library, Incubus Core, has been updated and contains the respective features and fixes in the latest release.

Advisory: 1.17 ➝ 1.18 World Migration
At this time, migrating worlds will work fine all elements of the mod except for dimension information.
Due to unforeseen issues currently beyond our control, the game is currently unable to migrate the Aether Dimension from the 1.17 format to 1.18s.
Anyone choosing to migrate worlds is strongly encouraged to make a backup and additionally opt to regenerate the dimension due to the worldgen changes made, as even if this component is stabilized, there is no chunk blending in place for world transitions.
(The Aether Dimension can be regenerated by removing the folder <MC_SAVES_FOLDER>/<WORLD_NAME>/dimensions/the_aether
)
Efforts are currently ongoing to determine the feasibility of getting this component working, to ensure a smoother migration to 1.18.x. Further news regarding this effort can be found on our discord server.
Fixes
- Fixed fatal issues that prevented servers from starting
- Updated Moretags - Should fix some issues with shears and some incompatibilities
- Re-added structures
- Updated leaves textures
