Infested: Swarms and Spiders 2.1.0 - Forge/Neoforge 1.20.1
by tonyandthetrashelementals on Oct 26, 2024What's the Buzz?
This update adds some content relating to bees, as well as a new set of tools, the Swarm Cells.
New Items
-
Bee Eggs - Obtainable occasionally by killing bees, breaking beehives or bee nests, or by harvesting honeycombs. Also obtainable by brewing Silverfish Eggs with a honeycomb. When used, they will spawn 1-2 bee minions that will last for a short time.
-
Swarm Cell - Obtainable by crafting bee eggs, honeycomb, and a bee nest. This item acts as a reusable source of minion mobs from this mod. Using it normally will spawn a number of minion mobs that will last until they die, or until you dismiss them by using the Swarm Cell on one of them. By crouch-using the item, you can set it to an 'automatic' mode that will slowly replenish your minions. The default Swarm Cell will produce bees, but you can craft it with other items to get variations that will produce spiders or silverfish. In the future, this may be expanded to some entities from other mods.
Each variation of swarm cell has a maximum number of minions you can have summoned at a time. If you try to use it to summon more while at your maximum, it will fail to activate, even if the minions you currently have out are from another type of swarm cell item.
New Enchantment
Conjured Swarm - A unique enchantment for the Swarm Cell items, that can be obtained through an enchanting table (if it doesn't show up, try enchanting something else and then returning.) Causes a Swarm Cell to use your experience points to spawn entities, rather than its own durability, so long as you have more than one level of experience.
New Mobs
Bee Minions - Their attacks deal more damage than spider minions, and they inflict poison II for a short time on attack, but they die immediately after attacking.
Attack Bees - Obtainable by dispensing bee eggs from a dispenser. They will target anything they perceive as a threat, including players. They die upon attacking, and inflict poison II for a short time.
Other Additions
- Added a crafting recipe for the Bee Nest using bee eggs.
- Added a new crafting recipe for Bug Stew using bee eggs.
- Spider minions dying should no longer occasionally create glitched cobweb traps.
Infested: Swarms and Spiders 2.0.2-Forge/NeoForge 1.20.1
by tonyandthetrashelementals on Sep 8, 2024Infested: Swarms and Spiders is now available for NeoForge 1.21 and 1.21.1!
The 1.21+ versions of this mod require GeckoLib.
Slight buff to the Spider Armor. It can now create Spider Minions when you kill an enemy that is affected by Slowness or Weaving (in 1.21+)
The Raw Grub's code has been tweaked to allow it to affect mobs that have some common bug names like 'Spider' 'Grasshopper' 'Beetle' etc in their names. This will hopefully help the item to work even if other mods' arthropods are not properly tagged as such.
Infested: Swarms and Spiders 2.0.0, 1.20.1 (Java Recode)
by tonyandthetrashelementals on Aug 23, 2024The Infested mod has been remade in java, and no longer uses MCreator.
Changes
- This mod no longer requires GeckoLib.
- General performance and event handling improvements for too many things to list here.
- Mobs added by this mod now have proper head rotation instead of rudely ignoring you.
- The looting enchantment should now more consistently apply to mobs added by this mod.
- Minion type mobs summoned from the Infested and Parasitoid enchantments (as well as Silverfish Eggs and similar items in the future) will no longer be damaged by their owner. Sweeping Edge users rejoice!
- Removed bug causing Minions and Tamed Spiders to sometimes not be tamed upon spawning.
- Silverfish Eggs will now spawn 2-3 Silverfish instead of always 2.
- The Spinneret will now cover blocks on its level, and the one above, instead of always being the one above. This should make it more intuitive to use.
Grubs and Crimson Beetles
- Improved code for Crimson Beetles in regards to breeding (no more one second flash of a T-posing beetle)
- Grubs and Crimson Beetles should spawn in better places (ie not in lava, on magma, or stuck up trees)
- Feeding a Grub cocoa beans has a chance to turn it into a Brilliant Beetle.
Brilliant Beetle
- The Brilliant Beetle's slow falling should no longer randomly fail.
- You can now only mount the Brilliant Beetle if it is tamed by you.
- Brilliant Beetles are now tamed with Cocoa Beans, and bred with Cookies.
Mantises
- Mantises are now tamed with Spider Eye, and bred with Fermented Spider Eye.
- Tamed Mantises will no longer rudely attack Brilliant Beetles tamed by you when they are left to Wander.
Spiders
- The Tamed Spider can no longer inflict Instant Damage, but it can now inflict Wither if given a Wither Skeleton Skull, or Nausea if given a Pufferfish.
- The Tamed Spider's eyes will no longer default back to green when the entity is unloaded and loaded again.
- When a dispenser uses a Spider Egg, instead of a grown cave spider, it will produce an Attack Spider that lasts for 15 seconds, that is hostile to players, monsters, and Attack Silverfish. Attack Spiders can poison targets for 5 seconds, and leave behind Cobweb Traps upon death (but not despawning.)
- Any entity that has 'spider' in its name will no longer be slowed by Cobweb Traps.
Spider Armor Set
- Made changes to the Spider Armor set to make it competitive with the Chitin Armor set. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it ignore vanilla cobwebs completely or climb walls (yet?), but these changes should make the set better.
- When the Spider Set is enchanted with Infested or Parasitoid, you will spawn Spider Minions instead of Silverfish Minions. Spider Minions have more health and deal more damage, and leave behind a Cobweb Trap when slain.
- When you slay an entity that is being slowed by a cobweb or Cobweb Trap, you will spawn a Spider Minion that lasts for 30 seconds at their location. For some reason this only works if the entity was killed with a weapon.
New Block
- Added a new block, the Spider Trap. This block has the same functionality as the Silverfish Trap, in that it will crumble if activated by redstone. However, instead of 5-8 silverfish, it will spawn 3-5 more powerful and durable Attack Spiders that will last for 15 seconds, and can poison targets. These spiders (of course) ignore cobwebs and cobweb traps, allowing for some devious tricks to be played with Spider Traps and Spinnerets.
(Resubmit, I noticed an error that caused the Bug Stew to remain in a player's inventory after feeding it to a B. Beetle)
Added a new mob -- The Brilliant Beetle, from Minecraft Legends! The Brilliant Beetle can be found in Jungle biomes, and is tamed using Cocoa Beans.
After taming the Brilliant Beetle, you'll be able to ride it. Like in Minecraft Legends, the Brilliant Beetle is capable of scaling walls. It also falls more slowly, allowing you to control it mid glide. Most of the time. I had to import some custom code and it's slightly buggy. This will hopefully be fixed when the Java Recode is complete.
Added the ability for Tamed Spiders to climb walls like regular spiders.
Updated the texture and name for the entity previously referred to simply as the Beetle, now called the Crimson Beetle.
Added Jewel Beetles, small insects that have a slim chance to appear when you break blocks that they inhabit. There are four varieties:
- Harvest Beetle - Appear when breaking grass, ferns, and bushes. Drop crops and seeds.
- Jewel Beetle - Appears when breaking deepslate ores. Drops raw ores and gems.
- Chorus Beetle - Appears when breaking End Stone. Drops Shulker Shells.
- Ancient Debreetle - Appears very rarely when breaking Netherrack. Drops Netherite Scrap. Jewel Beetles can be disabled via the gamerule 'jewelbeetlesspawn'.
Corrected the Orchid Mantis Spawn Egg name.
