Better Screens

Better screens is a simple mod that improves the screens & containers experience, with simple quality of life fixes!

Features

Prevent Closing Screens: Prevents the server from forcefully closing your screens. For example, your chat screen when a Hypixel SkyWars game starts. Originally created by Moulberry for MoulberrysTweaks.

Don't Reset Cursor: Keeps your cursor in the same spot when opening a new screen immediately after the last. For example, backpack slots in Hypixel SkyBlock. Originally created by nea89o for Firmament.

Click Out of Containers: Allows clicking outside the bounds of a container to close it.

Container Background Opacity: Sets the transparency of container backgrounds.

Container Texture Opacity: Sets the transparency of container textures.

Container Label Color: Set the color of the container name text. Useful for some resourcepacks that provide poor contrast.

Player Inventory Label Color: Set the color of the player inventory text when inside a container. Useful for some resourcepacks that provide poor contrast.

Container GUI Scale: Allows setting a different GUI scale for containers, such as your inventory or chests. This feature has several issues and is not finished! Some screens may be slightly broken, and other mods may have issues pop up!

Remove Recipe Book Shift: Prevents the recipe book from shifting the inventory when opening/closing. This makes no attempt to fit the recipe book in your screen if your GUI scale is too large.

Reasons For Making This Mod

Neither MoulberrysTweaks nor Firmament are updated to the latest version of Minecraft at the time of writing, 1.21.8. Additionally, both include features that I do not want, especially Firmament, which is a massive SkyBlock mod, while I wanted something more lightweight. MoulberrysTweaks also does not support the chat screen, which is the screen I needed the most.

A few of the features come from my mod Overlay Tweaks. I removed these features from that mod as I felt that mod was getting too bloated, with the config screen becoming more difficult to navigate. Since this mod covered similar features I decided to add them here.

Additionally, I added Click Out of Containers and Remove Recipe Book Shift, which I originally had as their own mods, for ease of use for most players. I will likely keep both those mods updated as well for the forseeable future for users or modpacks that only want those singular features.
